Competition & prize rules
These rules govern ChallyQ's seasonal competition and any prizes. They are written to be transparent and skill-based. ChallyQ is not a lottery, sweepstakes or game of chance: standing is earned through competitive performance under the rules below.
1. Free participation
Participation is completely free. There is no entry fee, no purchase and no deposit of any kind. Nothing of monetary value is ever staked, wagered or risked.
ChallyQ has no virtual currency of any kind — no coins or tokens. Accepting a challenge is free, failing one costs nothing, and there is nothing to buy, sell, trade or cash out.
2. How points are earned
Players earn Season Points (SP) by completing performance challenges on their own League of Legends games. A challenge is completed when the official match result, read from Riot's API, meets every target the challenge specified.
Season Points are cumulative within a season and are awarded only by ChallyQ's server-side settlement based on verified match data — never purchased, and never affected by anything but competitive performance.
3. Season start and end
The competition runs in seasons of a fixed, announced duration. Each season has a defined start and end time shown in the app.
When a season ends, its leaderboard is frozen and final standings are calculated from that snapshot. A new season then begins with every player reset to an equal starting position.
4. How ranking is decided
Ranked Solo/Duo and Ranked Flex are ranked on separate ladders, each with its own global leaderboard per season. Final standing on a ladder is determined solely by Season Points on that ladder at the moment the season closes. Today only the Solo/Duo ladder awards prizes; Flex is leaderboard-only.
Tie-breakers, applied in order: (1) fewer games played to reach the same points; (2) earlier time at which the points total was first reached; (3) higher challenge completion rate. If a tie remains, ChallyQ may split the affected prizes equally among the tied players.
5. Prizes
During Beta, ChallyQ offers no prizes — rewards are cosmetic only (for example, a Beta Tester badge). Any prizes in the future would require legal review before being introduced, and may never be introduced.
If prizes were ever offered, they would be funded entirely by ChallyQ. They would never be drawn from player money and never depend on the number of participants' payments, because there are none.
The prize structure for a season — what the prizes are and which ranks receive them — is announced before that season begins and does not change mid-season except to correct an error or as required by law.
Prizes are awarded strictly by final ranking. There is no random draw and no element of chance.
6. Prize eligibility and claiming
To receive a prize a winner must: hold the account in good standing; have a Riot account that is linked and verified; not be banned or restricted by Riot or by ChallyQ; and comply with these rules.
ChallyQ may require reasonable identity verification before delivering a prize, to confirm the winner controls the linked Riot account and to meet any legal obligations.
Winners will be notified in-app and must claim their prize within 30 days of notification. Unclaimed prizes after that window may be forfeited.
If a winner is ineligible, cannot be verified, or is disqualified, ChallyQ may award the prize to the next eligible player in ranking order, or withhold it.
7. Fair play and prohibited conduct
The competition rewards genuine, personal, in-game skill. The following are prohibited and are grounds for removal of points, disqualification, and account suspension or ban:
- Cheating, scripting, botting or any third-party automation that affects match results.
- Exploiting bugs in League of Legends or in ChallyQ.
- Win-trading, match-fixing or coordinating outcomes with other players.
- Account sharing, boosting, or playing on an account you do not personally own and control.
- Operating multiple accounts to gain an unfair advantage, and abusive smurfing intended to manipulate standings.
- Manipulating, falsifying or artificially inflating match statistics.
- Any conduct that results in a Riot ban or restriction, or that violates Riot's Terms of Service.
Games that Riot marks invalid, remakes, and games too short to count do not settle challenges and earn no points.
8. Manual review and disqualification
ChallyQ operates automated anti-fraud checks and may hold any result for manual review before it settles. ChallyQ may also review standings at season close before prizes are delivered.
Where fraud or a rules violation is found, ChallyQ may void affected results, remove points, adjust standings, disqualify the player from prizes, and suspend or ban the account. ChallyQ aims to apply these measures fairly and proportionately.
9. Changes
ChallyQ may update these rules. Material changes will be reflected here, and changes that affect a running season's prizes will not be made mid-season except to correct an error or as required by law.
